Hello once again, Haven Travelers! This is Elsie, gracing your screen with another exciting blog post. Did you miss me? I’ve been gone for quite some time, and I apologize for all of you eagerly awaiting with baited breath. I wasn’t slaying dragons or rescuing maidens (though both of those activities would have been preferable to any medical hiatus), but I promise you I have an extra special edition of “Staff Picks!” They say three is company… does that make four an adventuring party?
Today, we’re going to showcase some games selected by our brand-new staff members. They’re all excited to show you their favorite games we have in stock at the moment. From licensed deck-builders to classic TTRPGs, to fun, eclectic board games, let’s begin another thrilling edition of “Staff Picks!”
FREDY - POWER RANGERS DECKBUILDING GAME
A blast from the past, but in a fun and intricate deckbuilding package!

This game combines all the parts of a deckbuilder you might want with a healthy dose of campy Power Rangers crimefighting! Unite with up to three friends to protect the city of Angel Grove from villainous threats! Or, if you prefer a more nefarious pastime, become an iconic Power Rangers villain and crush your opponents!
Gameplay is hit-points based, and each side must vy for control against one another in a tense turn-based battling system. Cards can be used to block or reflect oncoming attacks, or to generate shards and energy needed to buy upgrades and rewards. With a few different game modes to tinker with, this deckbuilder is sure to give you plenty of moments of striking action poses and busting out your childhood Power Ranger costumes!
You can purchase the Power Rangers Deckbuilding Game in-store or on our website today.

LILITH - CLANK! CATACOMBS
“Catacombs is just as amazing as the other CLANKS! If not better. The board changes each game brings a slightly different challenge every time! And it's always fun seeing whether you’ll stall at the exit for just long enough for your friends to escape with you, or betray them and leave them to die to the dragon deep underground.”

CLANK! Catacombs is a standalone deckbuilding adventure in the CLANK! franchise. As an intrepid adventurer, you are trapped within the harrowing depths of Umbrok Vessna, catacombs created from an undead dragon. This expansion may be played with other CLANK! expansions or standalone.
In Catacombs, players will lay down dungeon tiles to progress throughout the catacombs. Using various resources (boots, swords, or skills), players will attempt to retrieve artifacts and escape to the crypt just above the catacombs. With your combined loot, you are attempting to be the most renowned thief and to eventually become The Greatest Thief in The Realm! Of course, if your friends don’t try and impede your progress at all. Be wary, as merciless evils and horrors lurk beneath the depths of this tomb, and many of them want to keep the artifacts they hold so dear. You’ll have to play smart and cunning if you want to escape with your life and treasure in CLANK! Catacombs!
Buy CLANK! Catacombs and other CLANK! expansions in-store, today. Don’t even think about being a thief, because I will personally catch you and add you to my dragon hoard.
AVARICE - PATHFINDER
"I am a chronic Character Creator, and I adore seeing all of the ways I can implement my intent into the process of making a unique little fella to insert into a game. So, between the Ancestries, Heritages, Backgrounds, and the sheer volume of feats and abilities to choose from, I'm able to realize that desire. Every one of those options culminates into viable tactical tools, which, when used right, contribute to one of the most engaging TTRPGs I have ever had the pleasure to experience."

Last but certainly not least is Avarice with the Pathfinder suite! Pathfinder is a renowned system for very good reasons, but what makes it so special in comparison to the plethora of other fantasy TTRPG systems out there?
Pathfinder was originally an offshoot of D&D, and became its own system further on down the line. Pathfinder is known for being much crunchier in terms of mechanics than D&D. Creating a character gives you access to many different options, such as ancestries, which change your character’s beginnings and view on the world. Feats, subclasses, backgrounds, traits, and more give you hundreds of options when creating a character that’s all your own.
Pathfinder is complex, and it doesn’t hide that fact. This is a game that veterans would feel at home in. The hardcore number crunch of determining various levels of damage with custom weaponry, various systems determining your visibility or armor class, and different levels of hardcore damage or injury all give the system a much more involved feeling than other games of its ilk. If you enjoy D&D but want a game that has a distinct level of customization and complexity, Pathfinder might be a place you call home.
You can start your lessons in Thaumaturgy with a copy of Pathfinder and it’s various cores today.
And that about does it for another exciting edition of “Staff Picks!” Next time on “Staff Picks,” who will be chosen to show off their recent faves? Will there be more exciting board games or TCG additions? Will there be TTRPG representation again? Is Elsie ever going to have a proper release schedule, or will she succumb to general malaise? All of these questions and more will be answered next time, right here on the blog.
See you soon, Haven Travelers!
